Getting to Broome BY

operate daily flights from Perth & Melbourne as well as connections from Sydney
and Brisbane via Alice Springs. Air
North flies between Broome, Kununurra and Darwin daily with connecting flights
from most major centres. Virgin
Blue runs regular direct flights between Adelaide, Perth and Broome. Sky
West have regular flights between Perth, Darwin and Broome. BY ROAD From Perth, visitors can taking the Great Northern Highway, which travels inland road through Newman or the North West Coastal Highway via Carnarvon and Karratha to Broome. Entering
the Kimberley from the east coast is via the Victoria Highway and Kununurra. From
Kununurra, visitors have the option to travel via the Gibb River Road or staying
on the sealed Great Northern Highway. It is recommended that 4WD's be used on
the Gibb River Road. Greyhound Australia operate a daily service to / from Perth and Darwin. Phone: 08 9192 1561 Getting
around Broome Broome has a wide range of car and campervan hire available. (refer car hire section) Taxi's
are available 24 hrs a day Contact Broome Taxis Ph: (08) 9192 1133 A local bus provides an hourly service between Broome and Cable Beach including to Gantheaume Point (first bus of the morning only) commencing at 0710. The last bus back to Broome leaves Cable Beach at 1815. During the busy months, mid May through to mid October, the service is run half hourly. For more details phone: 08 9193 6585 After
hours there is a night bus that operates 7 nights a week from Easter to New Year
and Thursday to Saturday New Year to Easter. For
the budget minded the Visitors Centre offers bike hire from a booth in the Cable
Beach area from June to September. |
